Technical glitches and oddities

It's 7:30am and I'm due to meet the tour group in about 30 minutes.  I can't wait.  But I thought I would mention a couple things that either didn't occur to me before the trip or have happened since I got here.

First, it seems that since I'm connecting through a Japanese internet address, the page I use to make posts and all that has been translated into Japanese.  It's really nothing more than a weird event since I'm familiar enough with the site to keep posting despite the buttons being in kanji, but I wonder if there is a way to fix it.  I've been unsuccessful so far.

Besides that, I've discovered that I either don't know how to properly operate the thing, or my power converter is a piece of crap.  It does nothing when I plug it into the wall.  I know there's power, since I have my laptop plugged into it just fine.  Thankfully the power adapter on the plug to my laptop can convert anything from Europe or Japan, so I can keep my iPhone charged.  But that means my normal camera is now a non-renewable resource unless I manage to buy, beg, borrow, or steal a functioning converter.  Maybe someone else in the tour group will have a working one.  Oh yeah, and my electric razor now has a finite lifetime on the trip.  Supposedly the charge lasts 8 hours, but I have my doubts.  In any event, I can probably pick up a normal razor if I absolutely have to.

In any event, pictures will not stop.  They'll just be usually taken with my phone now, which has a perfectly acceptable picture quality.  Ah well, off to organize my bag again before meeting with everyone.

  2. Thankfully yes. Although, looking back on it, that thing was awkward to roll around Shinjuku when I was looking for the hotel. Maybe it would have been easier if it had arrived later. Then they could have delivered it to me. Not complaining though. I was a bit concerned since I hadn't seen it for over 24 hours. Off to meet the tour group!
